About Leafr

Our Story

We founded Leafr to answer a simple question:

How can we give businesses affordable access to the sustainability expertise they so desperately need?

Leafr co-founders Nick and Gus had different journeys, but had faced similar issues:

Nick had spent years helping corporates with impact and sustainability. But even companies with big budgets struggled to find the right skills for their projects. Gus had built a platform to help fashion brands clean up their supply chains. But while customers had the tools, they lacked the expertise to use them.

With 18 million sustainability jobs to fill globally and only 1 in 8 people possessing the relevant skills, the sustainability gap is huge, and growing at a rate of 2 to 1, according to LinkedIn.

Why? Sustainability is a new field, with new skills and new problems to solve. Businesses face huge amounts of pressure to change, but have not built up the expertise to respond effectively.

We knew technology could help answer that question. And we both agreed on a simple goal: help businesses become sustainable, by connecting them to the right expertise, quickly and simply.

Today, Leafr is home to over a thousand carbon accountants, biodiversity specialists, ESG advisors, and more. We pride ourselves on getting companies access to the right skills and solutions in minutes, without excessive admin or extortionate fees.

We use our technology and data to help businesses answer their questions: How will regulations affect us? What tool should we use? Who can we work with to get our projects done?

Through it all our core idea hasn’t changed:
