Lydia Maher is a data scientist, entrepreneur and systems thinker. She has spent the last decade working on applications of data for social impact. Having begun her career in cancer intelligence at Cancer Research UK, she has since worked at Palantir and has spent the last three years working in climate, both as an entrepreneur and investor. She has deep experience in data analysis and modelling (SQL, Python, R, Spark), AI, data visualisation, enterprise software deployment and strategy (with experience in chemical manufacturing, advertising and media sectors). Furthermore, at Palantir, she built a supply chain simulation tool saving 2mnEUR/yr and led technological consultation for a new Swiss TV channel. Aside from data and technology expertise, having set up a flood insurance business, consulted extensively in the energy markets and advised many early-stage climate start-ups, she had solid a solid understanding of insurance, climate risk, natural catastrophe modelling and Renewable Energies (particularly, Financial Reporting & Planning and energy storage) and VC/fundraising. She is able to offer consulting in these areas, as well as more widely, on product, innovation, incubation and Go-To-Market strategy.
